Context
Sonic, America’s #1 Drive-In restaurant chain, sponsored a new campaign, inviting consumers to participate in creating the concepts, stories and even characters in its ads, while maintaining an active role in the creative process all the way through production.

Idea
The “This is How You Sonic” campaign gives consumers the tools to create entertaining stories without the hassle of filming, editing and uploading.   Those same consumers are in charge of promoting their creations and have a large degree of control over whether their spots end up being made, since consumer voting determines the finalists.

The first winners’ spots were filmed within a few weeks of submission and are now on the air, with the co-creator’s involvement spanning the process from concept to physical shoot in Los Angeles.
